Samsung brightens its VIP event with bespoke illuminated cubes
Samsung needed a memorable black-and-white booth
Samsung's events team had a VIP showcase coming up, and the brief was clear: the booth had to be the thing people remembered. The brand had recently changed its palette back to black and white, so the display had to sit inside those two colours exactly. It also had to travel well, show after show. And it needed to pull a crowd without a tangle of wires. The date was fixed, with no margin for error.
Why light boxes worked better than a printed banner
You can only do so much with a printed banner. A lit cube is a different proposition altogether. Each one runs on a rechargeable battery, so there are no cables or sockets to worry about. And because the cubes have a stackable design, the team could create a single two-tone tower that pulled the eye from right across the hall.
How mock-ups finalised the black-and-white design
The team found PK Green with a quick web search and got in touch about a bespoke build. Early on, the worry was a simple one: how would a stacked black-and-white pair actually look? Our free mock-ups answered that before anything went into production, showing the exact logo, colours, and finish. A white cube carrying a black logo, or a black cube with a glowing white one: both were on the table before anything was committed.

A couple of practical points needed ironing out first. Would the cubes come through shipping in pristine condition? And how big would they look on the stand? We explained that our displays and branding are designed to last for years and withstand transport easily. We also showed a photo of a person standing next to the cubes, to give an idea of the scale.
First impressions and last-minute layout changes
At a VIP event, the first few seconds do most of the talking, and the glowing black-and-white tower said plenty. A custom logo and scannable QR code were printed across the sides, so guests could scan through for more without anyone pushing a leaflet on them.
The cordless design worked well here too. When the stand was rearranged at the last minute, they were able to be moved easily without a fuss.

What Samsung ordered
PK Green makes illuminated displays in a range of shapes and sizes - cubes, columns, spheres and table centerpieces (this VIP booth called for cubes).
Here's what Samsung ordered for the event:
- Two illuminated cubes, 50 cm (20 in) - One black and one white, so they stack into a two-tone tower.
- Custom logo and QR code - Alternating across five sides of each cube for visibility from any angle.
- Rechargeable built-in battery with over 8 hours of runtime - Sees out a full event day, mains charger included.
- Remote control with 16 static colours - Lets the branding shift quickly if the colour scheme changes again.
- Shatterproof PE build - Rounded edges, a premium finish, and a lifetime guarantee on the build.
